Harold P. Foote was born in Pittsfield, MA in 1895, one of five brothers. He served as an ambulance driver during WWI and kept in touch with members of his corps for his entire life. His first wife, Hannah Eyler, died in childbirth when their son was born. After several years he married Helen Munz and they had a daughter together. Harold lived in Norwich for most of his adult life.
