Samuel was the son of Jonathan & Rachel Franklin. Samuel and Lydia Elizabeth Davis were both born in Burke County, NC and they married about 1814

Together, they had at least the following children:

Samuel is not recorded in the Owen Co, IN DAR Cemetery Registry compiled in the 1940's. They note " At least 20-30 more graves unmarked." However, Lydia's monument shows she was the wife of Samuel and I believe Samuel is one of those 20-30 unmarked graves.
