Audrey was born July 8, 1926, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Carl and Caroline (Behrendsen) Bahnsen.
Audrey graduated from Sandusky High School and was employed as a bookkeeper at Sears for many years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Zion Lutheran Church. Audrey was a caring individual who enjoyed gardening, knitting, birds and animals of all types, being outdoors and walking on the beach. She especially enjoyed gathering for family events, raising children, and spending time with all of her grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Audrey is survived by her four daughters, Anna (Gary) Dunn, of Sandusky, Dawn (Michael) Bauer, of Vickery, Ida Mae (Wayne) Cobb, of Sandusky and Florida, and Judy (Charles) Good, of Norwalk; two sons, Kenneth L. (Connie) Heiberger and Joel (Sandy) Heiberger, of Lancaster, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol Reiman, of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Audrey was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth L. Heiberger; second husband, Walter F. Dymond; her parents; brother, Richard Bahnsen; half-sister, Linda Ferstle; and stepfather, Frank Stroud.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, and from 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, until funeral services at noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
