Tutino, an on-duty Deputy Sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, was killed when the Metrolink train in which he was riding, in full uniform, collided with a car that a suicidal male deliberately placed on the train tracks. The suspect fled on foot and was later captured and charged with numerous counts of murder.
