John Whitaker, age 92 of East Point passed away Sunday morning at Salyersville Health Care Center. Born May 24, 1920 in Floyd County to the late Grover Cleveland Whitaker and Alta Blair Whitaker. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Robinson Whitaker; one son, Herbert Whitaker of East Point; one daughter, Helen Boggs of East Point; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1PM in the chapel of the Phelps and Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Whitaker Family Cemetery at East Point. Hubert Slone will officiate. Friends may visit the funeral home from 5-9PM Monday evening and until time of service Tuesday. Arrangements are by the Phelps and Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.
