Daughter of William & Cornelia Lee Springall. Sister of William Henry Springall.
Mrs. Amelia Melvina Berow, 85, widow of Hezekiah Berow, died at 3.05 Sunday morning at the home of her son, George Berow, 533 Gotham street, head of the shoe firm of Berow & Monroe, with whom she resided. She had been confined to her bed for ten days. Death was attributed to the infirmities of old age.
Mrs. Berow was born in Watertown, July 11, 1850, a daughter of the late William and Cornelia Lee Springhall. Her father was a native of England while her mother was born in this city.
She had lived in this section all her life. She was a former resident of Cape Vincent but had resided here for about 60 years.
She was married to Hezekiah Berow, formerly of Kingston, Ont., Feb. 10, 1868, at Cape Vincent. Rev. H. B. Preston performed the ceremony. Mr. Berow, who was engaged in the lumber business here, died in this city in October, 1918.
Mrs. Berow was a member of Trinity Episcopal church and of the Mothers' club of the church, Surviving her are two sons, George Berow, city, and William J. Berow, Brooklyn; a daughter, Mrs. Ida Weal, Lorraine; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a nephew, Lee
Springhall, Oswego.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Berow home. Rev. Walter C. Middleton, rector of Trinity Episcopal church, will officiate. Burial will be made in Brookside cemetery.
