Lucas had a very contagious laugh and a heart as big as his smile. Whether he was totally out of control on the ski slopes or speeding down the runway to vault high over the bar, he always had fun and would succeed at the challenge. Lucas was a big fan of college sports, especially Kansas and Kentucky basketball. His favorite NBA team was the Miami Heat. A highlight for him was attending a game in Indianapolis last February between the Heat and Indiana Pacers.
He is survived by his father, Greg Johnson of Boise; his mother and her husband, Penny and Cliff Code of Boise; his sister Carissa of Boise; grandparents Gary and Norma Johnson of Grants Pass, Ore. and Bill Leuenhagen of Boise; great-grandfather Glen Wittenburg of Emmett; numerous aunts, uncles; and cousins and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Lois Leuenhagen; great-grandparents Glenn and Mabel Johnson and Marjorie Wittenburg.
Lucas was diagnosed with cancer in August 2012. During the next nine months, he gave his all and maintained a brave and courageous attitude. A Celebration of Life was held May 18, 2013, at the Cloverdale Church of God in Boise. A private committal service was held on June 7, 2013, at Cloverdale Cemetery in Boise.
