Ronald E. Shroyer, 64 yrs, of Petersburg, died Sunday, February 21st, at Veterans Administration Hospital, Ann Arbor. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Wednesday, from 1-9 PM. Services will be at the funeral home Thursday, at 1 PM. Pastor Tim Iocoangeli, of Connerstone Baptist Church, will officiate. Cremation will follow, with burial of Cremains in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, at a later date. Born June 16, 1945, in Monroe, Ronald was the son of Thomas and Esther (Gilford) Shroyer. He married Lois Strouse July 9, 1966, in Petersburg. A US Army Veteran, he served from 1967 to 1969, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ Device, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, two Overseas Bars, and the Good Conduct Medal. Ron was employed by Ervin Industries, Adrian, retiring in 2007, after 34 years service. He was a member of the VFW, Summerfield Post 6509, Petersburg. Survivors include: his wife, Lois; children, Ron (Christina) Shroyer, Renee Shroyer, both of Petersburg; two brothers, Thomas (Irene) Shroyer, of Britton, MI, John (Kathy) Shroyer, of Monroe; five sisters, Ardean (Bernard) Cutshall, of Toledo, Dorothy (Ken) Parott, of Monroe, Charlotte (Eldon) Spoering, of Deerfield, Kay (Dennis) Stevens, of Grand Rapids, MI, Mary Dresher, of Temperance; and grandchildren, Joshua, Katlyn, and Jordon. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Laura Jean and Julie Kay, and his parents. Memorial contributions for Mr. Shroyer may be made to the Veterans Administration Hospital, Ann Arbor.

Ron was a 1965 graduate of Summerfield High School in Petersburg, Michigan. He served his country in Vietnam, for which he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
