Walter L. Kurzyna, died July 15, 2013 at CT Hospice in Branford, CT. Mr. Kurzyna was born January 23, 1920 son of the late Henry Kurzyna and Stella Kajma Kurzyna in Bridgeport, CT. He attended St. Michael's School in Bridgeport and Harding High School. He was a proud veteran of WWII when his country called serving under George Paton in North Africa and Italy. He also served in Rome, Southern France, the Rhinleland and Central Europe. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 141 and VFW Post 10059 of Trumbull, CT. He was a baker all of his life working for Zeisler's Bakery in Bridgeport for many years. He also worked for Frances Bakery and Luigi's of Trumbull as well as numerous bakeries. He is survived by his daughter Claudia Kurzyna of Trumbull, his granddaughter Julianne Shapiro of Brooklyn, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his wife Julia Knap Kurzyna, his brother Wenceslaus Kurzyna and his two sisters Jean Kurzyna and Helen Michalewicz.
