Doris Elenore Christianson Harris, 87 a lifetime resident of the Kenmare area, died on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at the Kenmare Hospital.

Doris was the daughter of Nels and Anna (Hansen) Christianson, who were pioneers of the area and was born near Kenaston on September 14, 1917. She graduated from Kenmare High School and worked for a time at San Haven Hospital.

She married Jerome R. Harris on September 30, 1939, the couple worked a farm south of Kenaston and later moved onto the Anna and Nels Christianson Homestead.

Doris was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church and her neighborhood Dorcas Circle. Doris was a dedicated mother and she loved gardening and attending to her flowers. She enjoyed reading and always kept up with current events. Doris' family meant a lot to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors: Children, Ronald (Carolyn) Harris, Kenmare; Jerrold Harris, Las Vegas, Nevada; Jack (Billiette) Harris, Bottineau, ND; Judy (John) Bishop, Kent, WA; and Tom Harris, Littleton, CO; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; Sister, Verna Harris, Kenmare; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome, son George Harris, grandson Jeffrey Harris; two great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Elizabeth Harris; brothers, Clifford, Alfred, and Frances Christianson.

Memorial Service: Saturday, August 6, 2005, at 11:00 am at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare.

Friends may sign a register book Friday, August 5, 2005, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare.
