Christine Etheridge Ables died August 23, 2013. She was born December 25, 1939. She attended Richland County Public Schools and graduated from C. A. Johnson High School in 1962; she also graduated from Benedict College in 1966 where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She earned a Master's degree in Education from the University of Indiana at Bloomington. She did further studies for her Doctorate Degree at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.

Christine worked in Norfolk City Public School in Norfolk, VA and later worked inVirginia Beach, VA for over 30 years and then retired. She was a member of AKA Sorority Virginia Beach Chapter and a member of the Delacardos Social and Civic Club Virginia Beach Chapter. Her favorite hobbies were reading, shopping, traveling, and spending quality time with children and senior citizens.

Surviving are her husband, James Ables; brother, John Scott, Sr.; sister, Elizabeth Pollock; an aunt, Fannie Ogden; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
