Herb was very spoiled by his parents and his older sisters there had been three other boys born in the family that had died in infancy. So Herb being the only surviving boy he was doted on.
Tragedy struck in 1924 shortly after he turned 15 his Mother Eve died suddenly on Mar 17th and nine months later on Dec 30th his father died unexpectedly leaving Herb alone and having to live with his sisters and thier families.
In August 18 1928 he married My Grandmother Flossie Delina Davis in Anna Illinois they were 19 and 15 at the time. For reasons unknown they were separated before my father was born in Jun of 1929
