Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek with the Rev. Carlan Helgeson officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Smith-Geib Funeral Home in Sugarcreek and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
He was born Sept. 15, 1908, near Sugarcreek to John and Amanda (Hostetler) Immel and married Opal Sweitzer. She died July 17, 1987.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Maxine) Gerber of Sugarcreek; five sons, Doran Immel of Sugarcreek, Max (Janet) Immel, Roger Immel and Kenneth (Marlene) Immel, all of Dover, and Keith (Peggy) Immel of New Philadelphia; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Esther Hershberger of Sugarcreek.
Four sisters, three brothers and nine half-brothers and half-sisters died previously.
