The 1940 US Census shows only Hayden as still living with his parents. Beth had married and Bill was away in the Marine Corps. He would be killed in action on Guadalcanal in August, 1942.

Wilfred graduated from Boston Latin School and Tufts College (now Tufts University). He was a longtime principle at Leominister and Brookline High Schools, in cities of the same name in Massachusetts.

Wilfred's World War I Draft Registration Card shows he and his wife were living at 24 University Street in Leominster where he was serving as the high school principal. he was described as being of medium height and weight with light brown hair and brown eyes.

The "Old Man's" Draft Registration requirement during World War II showed that in 1942 Wilfred was 57 years old and living at 68 Harvard Avenue, Brookline, Massachusetts, where he was employed as the high school principal.
