Joyce was soon to be a junior at Schenck High School in the fall. She was an honor student; a member of the school band, the Thespian Group, the Stage Band, the Tennis team, the Drama club and was a cheerleader. She was secretary of her class, a member of the student council, president of the chorus, and a member of the Dance Movement. She was survived by her parents and one sister. [according to her obituary in The Bangor Daily News (ME), 12 Aug 1980; p. 33]


Joyce had gone out for a jog near her house and never returned.
