"Ruth Halliburton Hall, 79, died peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2004 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Meredith Hall. The daughter of Erle Palmer Halliburton and Vida Taber Halliburton, Mrs. Hall was born in Los Angeles, California where she lived before moving to Jacksonville with her husband. She attended the Marlborough School for Girls, the University of Southern California, the University of Florida, and the University of North Florida. Mrs. Hall was actively involved with the Jacksonville Art Museum, and supported the fine arts community for many years. In her capacity as director of the William M. Hall Jr. Foundation, she established scholarships for deserving children throughout the nation. Mrs. Hall is also survived by her sister, Zola, of Los Angeles, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, William Meredith Hall, Jr."
