Sarah Sally Kratzer, 92, formerly of Arnold Road, Dalton, died Friday morning, July 14, 2006, in the Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton following a period of declining health.

She was born near Walnut Creek on June 5, 1914 to Harvey and Lovina Hochstettler Hershberger and had lived most of her life near Kidron. She had worked in the Kidron Town & Country Store Restaurant for 25 years and had volunteered at the Kidron Bloodmobile, World Crafts, and the Kidron Community Historical Society. She was a member of the Kidron Mennonite Church where she had served as a Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher and had helped with the MYF program.

On October 14, 1939, she married George W. Kratzer. He died May 21, 1992. Surviving are children, Cheyenne Jerry Geiser of Dalton and Erich Lauri Kratzer of Dalton; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.

A Memorial services will be held Monday at 10: AM at the Kidron Mennonite Church with Rev. Herman Myers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-5:00 PM at the church.
