Anthony "Tony" J. Llanes was born in Havana, Cuba per the 1940 United States Federal Census for Steubenville, Jefferson County, OH.

He came to the United States in 1923 and worked in the steel mills in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Tony married his wife, Rose (Rocchio/Roach) Dagnese 1939 in Brooke County, WV. Tony and Rose had two children together; Nancy Delores Llanes McCormick (1939-2012) and Richard "Dick" J. Llanes.

He moved his family to Phoenix, AZ in 1946. He was employed by Barrows Furniture Store before starting his own business, Tony's Appliance Sales and Service in 1952. He ran his successful business and made many wonderful friends before retiring nearly 30 years later.

Tony is survived by his wife, Rose, son Dick (Nancy) Llanes of Phoenix, daughters, Nancy (Jim) McCormick of Tucson, Gloria (Dick) Forthun and Violet (George) Hunt of Scottsdale, 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Tony was a hard worker, wonderful husband and father. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He was a devoted Dodger fan and loved to go hunting with his son and best friend, Dick. Tony will be greatly missed and be remembered with much love by friends and family members for generations to come. He was a very special man, who received great joy from the simple things in life. No services are scheduled.
