WALNUT CREEK -- Mildred L. Plance, 91, of Walnut Hills Nursing Home, Walnut Creek, our beloved mother, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007.
Friends may call Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 6-8 p.m. at Butler-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, and also one hour prior to services at St. John's United Church of Christ in Walnut Creek on Thursday.
Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Church, with Pastor Welton Stein officiating. Burial will be at Dalton Cemetery, Dalton.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association in your area.
Mildred was born April 24, 1916, in Wayne County, the daughter of Milo W. and Bessie (Pfister) Miller. She married Charles L. Plance on Dec. 8, 1934. He preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1987.
She was a homemaker and worked for several grocery stores in the North Canton and Massillon area.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Walnut Creek.
Surviving are two sons and their spouses, George and Sharon Plance of Massillon and Robert and Sandy Plance of Lake Marion, S.C.; three grandchildren, Christopher Plance of Massillon, Scott (Wendy Boman) Plance of Kidron, and Tina (John) Miller of Wooster; seven great-grandchildren, CJ and Courtney Plance, Autumn and Zachary Miller and Alex, Jack and Jenny Plance; brothers, Robert Miller of Canton, Donald Miller of Walnut Creek, and Ralph Miller of Colorado, and a sister, Marilyn Kandle of Berlin.She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Blake and Dale Miller, granddaughter, Terri (Plance) Kratz, and great-granddaughter, Laura L. Miller.
