Angelo P. "Pitch" Amitrone, 82, Seventh Avenue Extension, Brockway, died Wednesday at Christ the King Manor in DuBois. Arrangements are under the direction of the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home in Brockway.

ANGELO P. "PITCH" AMITRONE

Angelo P. "Pitch" Amitrone, 82, Seventh Avenue Extension, Brockway, died Wednesday at Christ the King Manor in DuBois.

Born Feb. 15, 1923, in Brockway, he was the son of the late John and Irene Petruzzi Amitrone. He was married to Gladys Taylor. She preceded him in death. He was married to Mildred Trumbull. She also preceded him in death. He was married to Diane Himes. She survives.

He served as a Sergeant and Military Policeman in the U.S. Army during World War II in Burma.

He retired from PennDOT.

He was a member of St. Tobias Catholic Church in Brockway.

He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 95, the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 7252, Brockway Sportsmens Club and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

He is also survived by one son, Joseph Amitrone of Brockway; one daughter, Karen Steele of Falls Creek; two stepsons, David Barber of Brockport and Joseph Barber of New Stanton; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Nadji and Suzanne Hynds, both of Brockway; two brothers, John and James Amitrone of Brockway; five sisters: Lena Cox of Brockway, Lucille Fischer and Marilyn Torok, both of Erie, Wanda Lankard of Mechanicsburg and Yola Nolan of South Carolina; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, raising turkeys and sports.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Joseph.

AMITRONE: Angelo P. "Pitch", Seventh Avenue Extension, Brockway, died Oct. 26, 2005. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home in Brockway. A vigil will be at 3:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Tobias Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Charles Kaza officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with a military service held graveside. Memorial donations may be made to the Venetia Manfredo Scholarship Fund, c/o DuBois Catholic Schools or to a charity of the donor's choice.
