ARDA ANDERSON

Arda Anderson, 75, Thief River Falls, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000 of cancer, in Oakland Park Nursing Home, Thief River Falls.

Arda Esther Franzmann was born Sept. 28, 1924, the daughter of Alfred and Laura (Bucholz) Franzmann, in Espelie Township, Marshall County, Minn. She graduated from high school in Goodridge, Minn., in 1942. She worked for Goodridge Post Office and Bremerton, Wash., Navy Yard until September 1943. She married Roy Johnson in September 1943. They lived in Highlanding Township, Pennington County, Minn. In 1967, they moved to Seattle, where she worked for See's Candy. In 1968, she returned to Thief River Falls, where she worked for Northwestern Hospital. In 1969, she began working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. She also worked for Goodridge Hartz Store. She married Orvin Anderson in June 1969. They lived in Highlanding Township. Orvin Anderson died April 7, 1999.

She is survived by children, Gary (Sherry) Johnson, Vancouver, Wash., Marilyn (Mel) Simmons, Ham Lake, Minn., Dale (Judie) Johnson, Abbotsford, B.C., and Arlen (Karen) Johnson, Vadnais Heights, Minn.; stepchildren, Florence (Vernon) Becker, Cavalier, N.D., Darlene Halvorson, Thompson, N.D., LaVonne (Larry) Forsberg, Thief River Falls, Linda (Ronald) Engelstad, Grygla, Minn., Julie (Gary) Kicsow and Tim (Lois) Anderson, both of Goodridge; 10 grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Russell (Marian), Grygla; and sisters, Iris Most, Prescott, Wis., and Arlette (Cheslie) Ruud, Gatzke, Minn.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Halvorson; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Most.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Ekelund Lutheran Church, Goodridge, Minn.

Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.

Burial: Ekelund Cemetery, Pennington County, Minn.
