Larry was bom on December 16, 1939 in Lawrenceburg, KY and
passed form this life to eternal life at home on Saturday morning, January 25, 2014. He is the Son of the late John William and Christine Perry Giles.

Larry was a 1957 graduate of Anderson Co. High School and currently serves as a Lawrenceburg City Councilman.

He served as a Staff Sgt in the U.S. Marine Corps and for over 26 years with the Kentucky State Police as a trooper, instructor at the academy and with the Governor's Executive Security detail.

A Major with the KY Fish & Wildlife, he served as the director of the Law Enforcement Division. He was a member of the American Legion Post #34, the Marine Corps League, Anderson Co. Sportsman Club, Beaver Creek Masonic Lodge, and the Scottish Rites.

Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years. Pat Holland Giles, two children John W. Giles of Lawrenceburg and Christy Giles (Mike McCurry) of Nicholasville, two grandchildren Hannah and Haidyn Giles, a sister Ginger Haydon (Butch), a brother Johnny Giles (Felita), a brother-in-law. Bill Sweasy, all of Lawrenceburg, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Pam Sweasy.

Honors will be provided by the Kentucky State Police Honor
Guard unit.
