ATWOOD -- Bernice E. (Bricker) Maris, 93, died Sunday (Nov. 20, 2005) at the Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.

She was born April 11, 1912, in Wauneta to Herbert "Hub" and Lula B. (Yant) Bricker.

She married Clarence L. Maris July 31, 1930, in Atwood. The couple farmed outside of Rexford, and owned a ceramics shop.

She was a member of Eastern Star, Jobs Daughters, Women's Church Group, Senior Citizen Center and the Red Barn Gang.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five sisters, Iva, Eva, Alice and Letha Bircker and Violet Rogers; two brothers, Bernard and Faye Bricker; three brothers-in-law, Ira Rogers, Alvin Rueter and Harold Moss; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Moss; a daughter-in-law, Lenna Maris; and two infant grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons, Clyde Maris of Sheridan, Wyo., Robert Maris and wife, Willa of Eldorado Springs, Mo., Jack Maris and wife, Shirley of Atwood and Jim Maris of Great Bend; a sister, Irma "Babe" Rueter; a brother-in-law, Harold Maris and wife, Bev of Wauneta; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Witmer and husband, George of Newburgh, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.

Services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Atwood with the Rev. Terry McGuire officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at the Rexford Cemetery, at 1 p.m.

Visitation is today, until 8 p.m., at Williams Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorials are being accepted in her name.
