He grew up in Auburn, Ind. After graduating from high school, Bob enrolled at Hanover College in Madison, Ind. When World War II broke out, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was assigned to the 423rd Squadron -- 306 Bomb Group stationed in Thurleigh, England.
In 1940, he married Helen Elizabeth Bolinger. In 1946, they moved to Golden, Colo., where Bob enrolled at Colorado School of Mines. He went to school and worked for William Gross Plumbing part-time. In 1948, Bob bought the plumbing business and owned and operated Kreamelmeyer Plumbing for the next 20 years.

For 10 years, Bob was Scout Master of Troop 48 -- Boy Scouts of America. This love of youth development carried over when he purchased property in the Williams Fork Valley outside of Parshall, Colo., and built a boys' summer ranch. He owned and operated the Williams Fork Ranch until 1972.
He moved to Montrose and purchased the Dude Coral Motel. He tore it down and rebuilt/renamed it -- San Juan Inn. He sold the motel in 1994.

A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be officiated by Rev. Steve Warren Saturday, May 3, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 19 S. Park Ave., in Montrose.
