Norma Lee McInturff, 79, of Strasburg, Virginia, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Winchester, VA.
A funeral service for Mrs. McInturff will be held Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Toms Brook United Methodist Church at 2 PM with Reverend Robert Throckmorton officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
She was born September 2, 1934 in Toms Brook, Virginia a daughter of the late Melvin Franklin and Mary Catherine Holler McWilliams.
She was a member of the Toms Brook United Methodist Church, and was retired from teaching Home Economics at Strasburg High School. She was also known as âthe Doll Doctor,ã repairing dolls for many area residents.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward "Eddie" McInturff.
Survivors include her daughter, Carmel McInturff Orndorff and husband, Charlie, of Woodstock, VA; two grandchildren, Christen Orndorff Palmer and husband, Joshua of Winchester, VA, and Craig Leroy Orndorff and fiance, Robin Brown, of Maurertown, VA; one sister, Betty Jessup, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and two brothers, Wayne McWilliams and wife Jeanette, of Friendsville, MD and Charles McWilliams and wife Delores, of Woodstock, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions in memory of Norma McInturff to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601 or Toms Brook United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 99, Toms Brook, VA 22660.
