Thompson-Mrs. Sarah Ellen Thompson, 81, of 1950 Market St., died early Monday morningin a local hospital following a lingering illness. She was a native of Charlton County, Ga., and had lived in Jacksonville for the past 35 years. She was a member of the Springfield Church of God. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ruby McGarva, Mrs. Pauline Hendrix, and Mrs. Lois Hendrix; two sisters, Mrs. Abbie Pratt, and Mrs. Pencie Payne, all of Jacksonville; one brother, Ray Combs of Georgia; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Springfield Church of God, Tenth St. at Evergreen Ave., the Rev. Cheslie N. Collins, pastor, and the Rev. F.L. Braddock, pastor of the North Jacksonville Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, MacClenny, Fla. Arrangements by Peeples Northwoods Funeral Home, 2220 Soutel Dr. near Lem Turner Rd.
