Olive Joyce Bowker was born July 21, 1924 in Syracuse, New york to Harry Taylor and Edith Hart Taylor. Olive grew up in the Syracuse area and attended school in the Syracuse school district. Olive had three other siblings, Joan Taylor, Jean Taylor and Alfred Taylor. Olive met Donald Edward Bowker in 1939/1940 and the two planned to marry but the marriage would have to wait until Donald's return from the military. Donald enlisted in the United States Army and served three years overseas during World War ll. Donald returned on Thanksgiving Day 1945 and Olive and Donald announce their engagement in January of 1946. Olive married Donald Bowker in March 1946 at the Masonic Temple in Bridgeport, New York. Olive worked for the Great American Victory Markets for 36 years. Olive and Donald had no children from their union. Olive did love spending time with her many nieces and nephews. Olive did have one Step-daughter from her husband Donald.
Olive was a member of the member and treasurer of the Order of the Amareth, Onondaga Court 1159 and a former member of the Minoa O.E.S. Chapter 144. Olive put together many of the gatherings for organization and was good at decorating cakes and making homemade candies and entertaining. Olive left behind her, her husband and beloved Tinkerbell, her pomeranian.
