Harold "Bud" Chester, age 93 of Grafton, ND passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.

Harold "Bud" Chester was born May 8, 1920 in Drayton, ND the son of the late Stanley and Ethel (Peppard) Chester. He attended school in Drayton. Harold was united in marriage to Ione Tjosheim on August 31, 1940 in Hallock, MN. The couple lived and farmed in Midland Twp of Pembina County until the 1960's when they moved to Grafton. He retired in 1973. Ione passed away on June 17, 1996 and Harold moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home in 2011.

Bud was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his sisters: Betty June Kiley, Salt Lake City, UT and Verna Oseth, Wasilla, AK, his sister-in-law, Irene Elshaug, Grand Forks, ND, his granddaughter, Tracy Larson of Kennedy, MN; and five great grandchildren, He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Gary, three sisters: Helen Lindblad, Donna Rasmussen and Marion Erickson.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery.
