He was born in Cleveland, on March 27, 1932, to the late Lester and Mary Walker Key. He was a member of Denham Street Baptist Church and American Legion Post 38. He was the owner of Lake Cumberland Country Music and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by ex-wife, Gladys (and Ramsey) Pennington; ex-wife, Norma Calhoun; and a daughter, L. Paulette (and Joseph) Kihm; six sisters, Christine (the late Odell) Atkinson, Aleen (the late Frank) Shaver, Lorene (and Garfield) Miller, Betty (the late John Jr.) Miller, Wanda Fay (and Morrison) Roberson, Freda (and Harlan) Thompson; a grandson, Daniel (and Christy) Kihm; a granddaughter, M. Jolie (and Chris) Wieland and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jones Key.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at the chapel of Taylor Ridge Baptist Church with Brothers J. S. New, Blake Vinson and Daniel J. Kihm officiating.
Interment will follow in Taylor Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Denham Street Baptist Church or American Legion Post 38.
