"He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God" Micah 6:8
J. T. Long went home to be with the Lord April 4, 2014. J. T. was born April 30, 1928 in Glenwood Arkansas. He migrated out west at the age of 14 with $50.00 in his pocket which he borrowed from his father. It was here where he met and married his wife and raised his family. A close friend recently described J. T. as a Builder. "J. T. was a builder of homes, churches, family and of faith." J. T., who became a successful homebuilder in the Sutter County area and later the president of the Yuba Sutter Building Association, would say his greatest contributions were the local churches and school he helped build. Calvary Temple, Sutter Assembly of God, Stonyford Assembly of God, and his help with the Crossroads Community Church, and Faith Christian School. The desire to do God's work never left him as he has continued to help out local churches in the Lincoln area in recent months. Those who know J. T. would describe his as a humble, fair, loving, and generous man who lived his faith. Jay, Daddy, Dad and Popo, we love you and thank you for the example of Christ that you have demonstrated so faithfully. A greater man who can find. J. T. is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Maxine Long of Lincoln; his children: Yvonne Long and Ken Long of Yuba City; his grandchildren: Randy Morton of Chico, Kim McDougal of Sacramento, and Rick Long of Yuba City and many beloved great grandchildren. J. T. was preceded in death by his father, Isaac and mother, Florence; and siblings: Ray Long, Billy Long and Bonnie Pendergrass; and son, Ricky John Long. The Long family would like to invite J.T.'s family and friends to his memorial celebration to be held at Crossroads Community Church, located at 445 B Street, Yuba City, CA 95991 at 12:30 pm on Friday, April 11, 2014
