A celebration of life service will be Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Berlin Christian Fellowship, 5382 County Road 201, Berlin, with pastor Urie Hershberger officiating. Burial will be in Nashville Cemetery
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
The family suggests contributions be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St., Akron 44308.
Robert was born Nov. 11, 1938, the son of Robert G. (Margaret) Gisinger and Bessie (Bud) Trussel, and married Carol Ann Kiner Oct. 4, 1959. She survives.
He was employed for 15 years at the former Regal Ware of Wooster, was a chef at the Village Restaurant and at the Elk's Club, worked at Millersburg True Value for 15 years and for the last four years drove an Amish Taxi service.
He attended Freedom Fellowship in Apple Creek, and spent countless hours in prayer with the Lord. He loved to serve and praise him. He enjoyed singing, reading, gardening and interior design. He loved Christmas and decorating for it.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Carol, are children, Sherri Spangler of Millersburg, Terry Gisinger of Coshocton, Sheila (John) Mays and Angela (David) Crist, both of Millersburg; grandchildren, James (Deidra) Spangler, Jeremy Spangler, Tyler (Heather) Mays, Lacey Mays, Tory Kotewicz, Taryn Kotewicz and Zachariah Kotewicz; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; stepmother, Margaret Gisinger of Newark; brothers and sisters, Ted (Peggy) Gisinger of Orrville, Sharon (John) Mackey of Holmesville, Linda (Larry) Harter and Rex Trussel, both of Millersburg, Rocky Trussel of Shreve, and Phyllis (Mike) Van Dyke of Newark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bessie; his stepfather, Bud Trussel; a brother, Mike Gisinger; a sister, Karen Shafer; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Hall.
