RUBYVILLE — HAZEL LEMOYNE (POWELL) KING, 98, of Rubyville, (Rubyville's oldest resident), died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.

Born December 17, 1915 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late George Alva and Minnie Myrtle (Allison) Powell, she was a 1933 graduate of Minford High School and was the last surviving member of that class. She was a homemaker, attended Rubyville Community Church and was former member of the Minford Homemakers Club.

She is survived by a son, Ronald K. King of Naperville, Illinois; a daughter and son-in-law, Lena and Bob Rowe of Rubyville; four grandchildren, Eric and Gail Rowe, Debbie and Gary Souders, Kimberly Trichardt, Kenneth and Lee King; 8 great-grandchildren, Ryan Souders, Daniel Souders, Tyler Rowe, Mackenzie Rowe, Marissa Trichardt, Maya Trichardt, Alex Trichardt, Chelsea Dunda, and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Leo King, on October 3, 1995, whom she married in 1941; a great-granddaughter, Natalie King; a brother, Glenn L. Powell; and a sister, Dorothy Huston.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Rubyville Community Church in Rubyville, with Pastor Calvin Ray Evans and Pastor Brian Baer officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, and one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church.
