Gus H. Canady, age 54 of St. George, Ga., died Monday morning in a Lake City hospital following a brief illness. He was a native of Charlton County, Georgia, and a member of the Moniac Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nova Burnsed Canady of St. George, two sons; J.N. Canady and Tony H. Canady; both of St. George, one Stepson, Seaf Rhoden, St.. George, Ga.; four daughters, Miss Reatha Mae Canady and Miss Donnell Canady, both of St. George, Mrs.Shirley D. Davis, Jacksonville and Jackie J. Harvey of Valdosta, Ga., also one step daughter, Mrs. Lucille Prescott of St. George; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Crews of Folkston, Ga., Mrs. Cleo Raulerson and Mrs. Susie Burnsed, Both of St. George, GA.; two brothers Frances Canady and Casey Candy of St. George.
Funeral services ere held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Moniac Baptist Church, Moniac Ga., with Rev. W.L. Self, officiating. The body rested in the church from 1:30 P.M. Wednesday until the funeral hour. Pallbearers were Bud Hodges, Nathan Burnsed, Orbie Rhoden, Lonnie Canady, Cecil Raulerson and George Chism.
