She was surrounded by family who sang song of praise and worship during her final moments on earth as she slipped away peacefully with much grace and dignity.
She is now reunited with her late husband who was the love of her life, Jack Tabor.
Joanne was a native of Brevard, however, spent many years serving her community in and near Birmingham, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; R. D. and Emma Jean Golden Justus, first husband; Freeman G. Shows, Jr, sister; Julia "Judy" Bradberry, brother; Dennis Talley and her beloved step daughter, Diana Shows McCarty.
Known for her sweet spirit and beautiful smile, Joanne's legacy is secured as one of light and love in Christ.
Funeral services will be held 11am, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Revs. Bobby Jo Justus and Tommy Owen officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hogsed Cemetery.
