Madonna W. Bisel age 89, former 3698 South U.S. 27 Portland resident passed away Wednesday in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare. She was born in Mercer County, Ohio April 28, 1925 the daughter of Floyd and Grace (Ulmer) VanTrees. She was married in 1965 to Thurl Bisel and he died in 1969. She was retired from Jay Garment in Portland. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene, Jay County Hospital Aux., Portland Moose Lodge and Eastern Star. She was a Fort Recovery High School graduate.
Surviving are a step-daughter Sandra Wood of Florida, two step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Don Somers of Portland
Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Dave McClellan presiding. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Fort Recovery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Hospital Aux.
