Mrs. Mildred Eller Ashley, age 77, of 170 East Whitehead Street, Apt. 3C, Sparta, NC, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was the daughter of the late Ed and Ettie Eller of Ashe County.
Mildred spent most of her life as a resident of Sparta.
She loved her family, her friends, her flowers, walking, bowling and playing BINGO.
She participated in the Senior Games and was a supporter of Relay for Life.
She is survived by her four children, Steve Ashley and his wife Janet of Wake Forest, Sandy Ashley of Sparta, Doug Ashley and his wife Sisie of Mebane, Candy Smith and her husband Stan of Sparta; one sister, Iva Lea Segraves of Warrensville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
A private graveside celebration of Mildred’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 1st.
