"MAGNA --- Robert Harry Bowers, 77, died peacefully from a massive stroke at home Oct. 24, 2000, with his family by his side.

"He was born Feb. 14, 1923, to Harrison L. and Ana Eva Anderson Bowers. Married Earlean Nelson Sept. 12, 1947, marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

"Bob served in the U.S. Navy for three and a half years during World War II. He retired from Kennecott Copper after 37 years. He enjoyed woodwork and was an excellent painter. He enjoyed life with his family and spent time in the mountain cabin he built with his father and brothers. He had a deep love for his family. He will be greatly missed.

"Survived by his wife, Earlean; son, Dan R. (Sylvia) Bowers; daughters, Sue (Roger) Phillips and Jan Koffel; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Vao (Flossee), Jay (Yvonne), and Jack (Barbara).

"Preceded in death by his parents; and sister, LaUna Cavanee Clifton.

"Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday, October 27, 2000, at the pleasant Green Chapel, 8739 W 3000 S, where friends may call both Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 11-11:45 a.m. Interment Valley View Memorial Park. Funeral Directors Peel Funeral Home, Magna."
