Amory - Lonnie Alvie Vick, 97, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory after a long illness. She was born Feb.21, 1905,in Marion Couny Alabama to Henry and Mettie Hathcock West. She lived n Amory for many years. She was a homemaker and a Pentecostal. She enjoyed cooking. She married William Elie Vick in 1922; he died in 1985.
Services were at 11 a.m. July 5 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with the Rev.Rick Bowen officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Hubert Vick of Baldwyn and Royce Vick of Orlando , Florida; four daughters, Susie Mann, Juanita Gray and Icelee West, all of Amory, and Edna Mann of Aberdeen; a sister, Christine Mathis of Gattman; 51 grandchildren; 109 great-grandchildren; 71 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons Pete and Jube Vick; three daughters Lessie Brown, Jo Ann Gaff,and Margie Pace; six brothers, Albert, Floyd, Lee, William, Grady, and Henry West; and three sisters Annie May West, Ruby Willhite and Rosa Vick.
Pallbearers were Adam Brown, Jeffrey Brown, Shane Gray, Charlie Gray, John Curtis Umfress and Larry Oliver.
