Alta June Miranda was born to Gustav and Berit Kristine (Sakrismo) Saxvold on March 8, 1925 in Marshall County, MN, the fourth of six children. She was baptized on April 12, 1925 and graduated from Goodridge High School in the spring of 1942. Shortly after graduation, she moved to St. Paul where she worked as a nanny/housekeeper and met her future husband, Frederick Charles Cossentine.
June and Fred were married on February 5, 1944 in St. Paul, where three daughters were later born. They moved back to Eagle Bend in 1947, where Fred drove a gas truck for Eagle Bend Oil as well as a school bus route and June worked in a sewing factory and at Weibye's Dept. Store. She later provided day care services. In 1990, they moved into the Eagle Heights Apartments. Due to failing health, she moved into the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa in April, 2014.
June enjoyed using her free time for sewing, embroidery, picture puzzles, Find-A-Word puzzles and being outdoors in her garden.
June was preceded in death by her husband Fred on March 31, 2013; parents Gustav and Berit; grandsons Wade Anderson & baby boy Willie; son-in-law Bob Willie; and siblings Glen Saxvold, Ingeborg Loven, Elizabeth Holte and Dagney Boberg.
