Michelle Kellogg "Mickey Ona" Gann, 59, of Garland died April 19 at Richardson Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
Michelle, known as "Mickey" to her family, worked as a registered pharmacist in the Dallas area for many years. No matter where she worked, she enjoyed a faithful following of customers due to her medical knowledge and her caring nature. She was dedicated to working with customers to help them find the best treatment for their illnesses.
Michelle was born March 2, 1947, in Tokyo, Japan. She moved to the United States with her family in 1958, settling in Roanoke, Texas. Michelle graduated from Northwest High School in Justin in 1965 as salutatorian. She then attended North Texas State University and the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a degree in pharmacology.
In addition to her interest in the medical field, Michelle also loved the study of language. She spoke Japanese, Spanish and French, and spent her time reading and learning new things. She also loved to work in the garden, filling her yard with a wide variety of beautiful flowers and plants. Music was another passion of Michelle's — she played both the piano and the flute.
Funeral: Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 24, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Denton. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery in Krum.
Survivors: Michelle is survived by her mother, Mieko K. Gann of Ponder; sister June Marquis and husband Bill of Stoney; sister Amy Gann Turner and husband Bob of Frisco; brother Pat Gann and wife Debbie of Keller; and several nieces and nephews. She also will be missed by her close friend Charles Green of Dallas and many others.
