Cause of death: Accidental; burns from hot coffee spilled by Grandpa Hazel. William's parents, Roscoe and Jessie (Cletcher) Hazel divorced soon after. This may explain the burial site puzzle. Jessie may have insisted on a burial near her people in Jackson County, after the burial card (that designated Wartrace Cemetery) was printed (see photo).
