N. Estell Roberts, 85, of Terrell passed away on the morning of Sunday, January 4, 2015. She was born on May 2, 1929 in Emory to Ordie and Abbie (Littlejohn) Yancey. When she was 11 years old her family moved to Dallas. She graduated from N.R. Crozier High School, Patricia Stephens Finishing School and Draughns Business School all in Dallas. She married William Douglas Roberts of Terrell on November 29, 1952. Estell retired from Terrell State Hospital after 24 years in the Volunteer Service Department, where she worked as the Assistant Coordinator of Volunteer Services.
Estell is preceded in her death by her husband, Douglas Roberts; her parents, Ordie T. and Abbie Yancey; her son, Michael Douglas Roberts; a brother, David Yancey; sisters, Geraldean Couch and Joyce Hooper; and her step daughter, Cindy Roberts.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, at 2:00 pm with public visitation on hour before the service at Goggans Funeral Home with Dennis Hogan (Church of Christ minister in Terrell, TX) officiating. There will be a private burial in the Oakland Memorial Park following the service.
