Cora (Chandler) Michael Alexander, age 93, of Sparta, MO, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015. She was born March 14, 1921, in Anderson, MO, one of 13 children of Robert and Flaua Chandler. She was a 1939 graduate of Anderson High School. In 1940 Cora married G.A. Michael. In 1965 she and Jerome Alexander were married. Jerome passed away in 2006.
Cora was an LPN at St. John's Hospital before retirement. She and Jerome served as ambulance EMTs out of Sparta. During World War II she worked as a shipyard welder in Seattle. Cora was a member of Sparta First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: Three sons, Richard Michael and wife Jerry, Gary Michael, and Bryan Michael; five grandchildren, Mara Jordan and husband Doug and their children, Rilee and Wyatt; Richard Friend and his wife Shannon and their children, Caitlynn, Payton, and Cameron; Susan Quick and husband Bill and their children, Savannah, Dalton and Isabella; Melinda Wentz and husband Richard and their children, Alex and Jackson, and Jennifer Oliver and husband Shawn and their children Amelia, Noah, Joshua and Jacob; a brother-in-law, Ben Alexander.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Bobbie Michael and Stephen Michael, 12 brothers and sisters, her husbands, and her parents.
Burial in Banner Cemetery, Anderson, MO.
