Lamar Alexander, Jr., age 77, of Baldwin, Florida passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital. He was born in Broxton, Georgia on September 19, 1936 to the late Lamar Alexander, Sr. and Maggieleen Tindol Alexander. Lamar has been a resident of Baldwin since 1988 after moving from Jacksonville, FL. He retired after many years of dedicated service as a Truck Driver and he was a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Lake City. Lamar enjoyed rose gardening, listening to gospel and bluegrass music, and eating ice cream. Most of all Lamar loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren along with his weekly tradition of eating at Golden Corral. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kirby Alexander; his great grandson, Elijah Godinez; his 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Lamar is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lillie Mae Alexander of Baldwin, FL; his daughters, Kathy (Steve) Tucker of Glen St. Mary, FL, Star (Ricky) Hurst of Oklahoma, Elaine (Ed) Treadwell of Lake City, FL, and Middie (Jimmy) Alley of Middleburg, FL; his sister, Marilyn (Jack) Moody of Georgia; his 12 grandchildren and his 9 great grandchildren.
