William Andy Brigance was the son of John Henry Brigance and Mary "Polly" Ann (Tipton) Brigance.

He was the husband of Ollie Isabel (Taylor) Brignance. William Andy was the 5th child of John Henry and Mary Ann (Tipton)Brigance. He married Ollie on the 26 day of December 1899 by L.G. Wilson. He was an active member of the Union Hope Missionary Baptist church and was elected deacon in July of 1909.
He was the father of 12 children: Beulah Beatrice (Brigance)Scroggins(1900-1992 in Reedley, California); Ida Thelma (Brigance) Chancellor(1901-1969); Benjamin "Benny" Minor Brigance(1904-1932); Claude Luster Brigance(1906-1990); Lucy Inez (Brigance)Holcroft(1907-1992); Leacy Leanor (Brigance)Wilson(1906-1980); Ruby Lurene Brigance(1911-1912); Elsie Ella (Brigance)Hurt(1913-1933); Jessie Grady Brignce(1915-1944); Infant Daughter Brigance(1917-1917); Joel Thurman Brignance(1918-?); and William Berry "Willie" Brigance)1920-2014).
