Anne Elizabeth Kelley of Berea, 87, wife of the late Houston B. Kelley, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at her home in Berea.

Anne was a good wife, mother and grandmother. She loved people very much and was loved by all who knew her.

Anne was born Dec. 16, 1919, in Paintsville, Johnson County, Ky. She was the daughter of the late William Moses "Curtis" Preston and Mary Jane "Mollie" Helton Preston. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Berea, an employee of the Berea Hospital for a number of years, a member of the D.A.R. and also a long-time member of the Magoffin County Historical Society.

Anne is survived by: her three sons and three daughters, all of Berea, Kenneth H. Kelley and his wife Paulette, Roger Keith Kelley and his wife Anita Lynn, Barry Neil Kelley and his wife Brenda, Connie Lynn Conley and her husband Randall, Rhonda Kay Kelley, Kathy Marlene Howard and her husband Don; Jerry Rice, son-in-law, of Salyersville, Ky.; two brothers, Roy Jack "Todd" Preston of Salyersville and Walker Helton Preston of Fairborn, Ohio; three sisters, Luva Mae Preston Connelley and Glenna Sue Preston Howard, both of Magoffin County, and Ida Jane Preston Conley of Dayton, Ohio.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Houston B. Kelley, on Feb. 13, 1976, one son, Ricky Lee, and one daughter, Carol Ann Kelley Rice of Salyersville. She also was preceded in death by three brothers: Ralph Carter Preston of Ohio, Henry Ford Preston of Scioto County, Ohio, and John Redmond Preston of Indiana.

Anne leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 13 stepgreat-grandchildren and one stepgreat-great-grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Lakes Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Davis, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Berea, and the Rev. Ronnie (Butch) Pennington, pastor of the Kirksville Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams/Kelley Family Cemetery, Ivyton, Magoffin County.

Pallbearers will be Roy Jack "Todd" Preston, Walker Helton Preston, Barry Neil Kelley, Roger Keith Kelley, Kenneth H. Kelley and Allan Legear.

Honorary pallbearers are Barry Neil Kelley, Richard H. Kelley, Roger Keith Kelley II, Joel David Parks, William Robert Parks, James M. Parks, Kenneth P. Kelley, James Rice and Jerry Rice Jr.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Lakes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite organization: Magoffin County Historical Society, P.O. Box 222, Salyersville, KY 41465.
