His passing was due to complications from a heart transplant which he received on July 4th; he had battled heart disease courageously for over 12 years

Born in the family home at Winfield, Ohio; son of Wallace and Bernice (Richardson) Miller; he was proud of his heritage as a descendant of the early Richardson and Miller pioneers who entered Tuscarawas County before 1810

Graduate of Dover High School, 1961

Survived by his wife of 38 years, Sue Uppstrom Miller; three children, John, Jr. (Marcia) Miller of New Philadelphia, Mrs. Cindy (Steve) Forney and Matt (Mandy) Miller both of Dover; four grandchildren; three brothers, Dean of Orrville, David of Sugarcreek and Jerry of Indiana; and one sister, Carol Zimmerly of Kidron

Preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Darrell
