Frances Shoffeitt Cass, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens.

She was a lifelong resident of Englewood and was a devoted Christian. She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She attended North Englewood Baptist Church. Frances was a loving wife, mother and friend.

A daughter of the late Irene Jeralds Shoffeitt, she was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Jeralds Shoffeitt; by an infant daughter, Dawn Collette Cass; and two brothers, Darrell and Duane Shoffeitt.

Frances enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed reading, her flowers, her birdhouses and Gospel music. Frances always had a kind, loving heart and an enormous amount of love she spread to her family and friends. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bob Cass of Englewood; daughters and son-in-law, Holly Cass, and Autumn and Andy Derrick; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Lynn and Gail Cass; grandsons, B.L., Jordan and Andrew Cass, and Gage, Gunner and Bricen Derrick; granddaughters, Lynsey "Bubba Pie" Cass and Aryn Elizabeth Click; great-grandsons, Carter and Walker Cass; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Stan Dorff, Sue Shoffeitt, Judy and Billy Ray Price, Bernard and Janice Cass, and Jerry and Linda Cass. Frances had several cousins, nieces and nephews along with many beloved friends.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Coleman and Scott Cass officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home on Saturday, March 14, at 10 a.m. and proceed to Sunrise Cemetery for the 11 a.m. committal service.

B.L. Cass, Jordan Cass, Andrew Cass, Brad Dorff, Josh Dorff, Walt Shoffeitt, Dale Click and David Bull will serve as pallbearers.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
