Isaac Kidd was the father of native Clevelander, Rear Admiral Isaac Campbell Kidd, U.S. Navy, Commander, Battleship Division One and Chief of Staff to Commander, Battleships, Battle Force. He was killed in action on the bridge of the Battleship U.S.S. Arizona during the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor on the Island of Oahu, Hawaiian Islands, December 7, 1941. The Admiral is still considered to be entombed aboard the Arizona at Pearl Harbor with hundreds of other crewmen. For his actions that day he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
