Smithville Review - Margaret Eva Beamer, beloved wife of Mr. Israel D. Allen, passed away on Christmas night, after an illness of a few months from that dread disease, cancer. Despite all that medical skill could do, with careful nursing and kindly treatment by loving hands, her death was pronounced some weeks ago by experts to be inevitable within a short time and the angel of Death relieved her from her sufferings and she was taken to her Heavenly Home in the dying hours of the old year to be with those who have gone before, "forever with the Lord". Deceased was the only daughter of the late Bryon L. and Mrs. Beamer of Silverdale. She was married in 1885, on the 17th of October, and with her husband lived the remainder of her life in Smithville. Two sons, Archie B. of Toronto, and Earl T. of Hamilton, one daughter, Nellie May, at home, with the sorrowing husband remain to mourn the loss of a loving wife and kind mother. Two brothers, Mr. Archie Beamer of Fenwick, and Mr. Ed. Beamer of Forks' Road, also survive. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Smithville Methodist Church, and took an active interest in the Ladies' Aid and W.M.S. She was in her 49th year. The funeral was held to Lane's Cemetery, the Rev. Fred R. Hendershot officiating. The pallbearers were: Messrs. W.C. Misener, David Disher, A.G. Boulter, A. Barnard, H. Wilcox and M. Zimmerman...
